Effects of Simulation-Based Delivery Education Regarding to Obstetric Clinical Practice before and after of Nursing Students

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Simulation-Based delivery education before and after clinical practice on nursing students.

Methods: The experimental group contains 48 students taking obstetrics clinical practice after having Simulation-Based delivery education, and the control group contains 48 students taking Simulation-Based delivery education after having clinical practice. Simulation-Based delivery education had done 3 hours in a week for 7 weeks, and clinical practice had done 9 hours in a day for 5 days. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 window program.

Results: Nursing students who received Simulation-Based delivery education had higher level of delivery care knowledge (t=4.93, p<.001), Clinical performance ability (t=15.76, p<.001) and simulation utilizing satisfaction(t=3.92, p<.001) than those who did not attend.

Conclusion: The effect of Simulation-Based delivery education is depend on the contents of the education and the surroundings of experiment, the results of study recommend placing ¡®Simulation- Based delivery education¡¯ previously to clinical practice during organizing a course of study.
